Focus
The Alliances' Network has a focus on genetics, genomics and medical
biotechnology and their medical, ethical, legal, psycho social
and cultural implications. The EGAN is working from the patient
perspective.
Mission
EGAN is working for a voice in research and health policy
and seeks a world in which genetic diseases are understood,
effectively treated, prevented and the people affected supported.
Objectives
The EGAN aims at becoming an independent and democratic alliance
of national and European disease umbrella groups, representing
patients with genetic and congenital conditions. They will
voice and articulate a clear, patient focussed perspective
on genetic and medical biotechnological issues and their ethical,
legal, psycho social and cultural implications in the European
political, scientific and industrial arena.
